It took a lot of years but I finally drew an elk tag in Wyoming! Headed to unit 62!! I know there's lots of grizzlies, but hopefully that just adds to the adventure. Can't wait.
I see that going in to this years draw there are 1040 people left with max points for elk in Wyoming. I can't seem to find how many max point holders there were in previous years. I'm wondering how much the number changes each year? I doubt its very much, but I can't seem to find it out...
So a buddy of mine invited me on a deer hunt on the Standing Rock Reservation in North/South Dakota. As luck would have it i drew a tag! This will be my first whitetail hunt and i'm pretty excited. Any one ever hunted it? It looks pretty open! Just thought i would see if any of you traveling...
Hey guys its been awhile! So i lucked out and pulled a Late Manti bull tag. Just wondering if anyone has hunted it and if there were a few pics out there or an idea off what kind of bulls to expect. Im not asking for spots or any of the usual "give me help" posts we all hate. Just excited...
Hey guys, I drew a pretty good tag I think! (Unit 30 late) Anyone have any pics of bulls taken in this unit? I've never hunted it before but the stats look pretty good! Any thoughts on if I should hunt early, late, both? The only downer is that I am deploying soon and won't be able to scout...
What a great deer season my family had this year! My wife Keely has been on a couple deer hunts with me but for some reason or another she never has been able to seal the deal until this year. So I hiked her in well after dark to a spot that has treated us well over the years hoping to find...
This year my partner Aaron (Buckfever) and I tried something a little different for us and took two weeks straight off of work to go hunting. We usually take at least two weeks off but never in a row. Any way the first week was spent deer hunting and it was rough! We saw lots of bucks just...
Hello boys! I am a little late with this story but better late than never right?;) This hunt really started in 2012 when my hunting partner Aaron drew his sheep tag and I was privileged to spend a little over a week hunting with him and although he didn't kill his ram on the trip that I was with...
Sorry guys I haven't been very good about posting on here this spring. But I have an excuse, I have been hitting the hills pretty regularly looking for a good bear to shoot! I hunted pretty hard and saw close to 20 bears over the 4 trips I made up there. I just couldn't find one that was big...
I had a good time with great friends this year during deer season. I walked away with a decent set of deer horns and some good eats for the winter! Good luck to all!:):)
Went and picked up the bucks I killed on Kodiak last year and they turned out great. Here is the link to the story of the hunt that I posted last year.

And here are the bucks...Two of them anyway.:)
Just got back from Kodiak the other day and had a great time. Though we got weathered into the boat for about a day and half we were still able to take as many bucks as we wanted to. These blacktail deer were quite a bit smaller than a muley but were really fun to hunt. Constant action as we...
Another Idaho Muley to get Fin's blood pressure up for his first hunt to Idaho. I shot this buck opening morning this year and since I already had vacation scheduled for this week I couldn't not buy another tag..............right?:D:D
Headed up this afternoon for another go! Good luck to all!!!
Finally made it back home to Eastern Oregon after way to many years to hunt elk with my family. I really didn't realize how much I missed it.
Showed up on Monday for a Wednesday opener to hang out with my Grandad and get the cabin set up. My family has owned this cabin since the 1940's, lots...
Finally got a bear worth shooting to come into my bait and got him killed. I passed on one littler bear earlier in the day, but when this guy showed himself there was just no passing!! Great first archery bear I think. This was my first year of baiting and I gotta say it was an absolute...
This is from this years regs.
Waste of Game
Hunters are required to remove and care for the edible meat
of big game animals, except black bears, mountain lions, and
gray wolves. This includes the meat from hind quarters as
far down as the hock, meat of the front quarters as far down
as the...
