    My first Cougar

GilaMonster, Maybe I'm wrong about this but I thought someone told me that the world record Teddy Roosevelt lion from Colorado has since been replaced by a lion from up north, British Columbia or Alberta or somewhere up in Canada. I could be wrong but I believe the new world record is now...

A great Bluetick Pup up for auction...........

James, Cameron hounds are known as cat dogs, both lions and bobcats. But I know guys who run them on bears as well and coons. A cameron hound would most likely make you a nice coon, bear, lion or bobcat dog. -Dawg

    Houndmen Hall of Fame.....talk

PS... Hey Bruce, Don't know if you have posted the info about the Expo on the MM site but a number of hound guys hang out over there. www.monstermuleys.com, Hounding Forum. You should post the Expo information over there as well. Take care.

    Houndmen Hall of Fame.....talk

You know Bruce, you brought up an interesting point in an earlier post... What about coon hunters? In much of the country coon hunting is a huge deal. To be honest with you, besides John Wick I don't really know any good coon hunters. But his accomplishments in the coon world are second...

    Houndmen Hall of Fame.....talk

Bruce, I didn't mean to sound critical and wasn't accusing your list of being "regionalized". I think this is really cool and only wish I'd have known about it sooner. I'd have liked to nominate one or two guys. I realize also that you are just the messenger. Again, I think what you are...

    Houndmen Hall of Fame.....talk

Horn Seeker, There was an old houndsman in my country. He died of old age about 8 or 10 years ago. I remember seeing his Obituary in Full Cry but had already heard plenty about him. He was a bear hunter and nobody in this country caught more bears, well actually nobody caught half as many...

    400-pounders are for sissies!

A couple of hound guys I know killed a bear here in Utah a couple of weeks ago. It was real late in the year and they cut the boars track in the snow. The bear weighed 510 lbs on certified scales. However, the taxidermist said it had 4.5" of fat all over it's back and rear end. So this...

    Houndmen Hall of Fame.....talk

Ernie, I actually mentioned a similiar thing to Bruce. Hounding can often be a very "regional" thing... and many of the hound guys in my country don't really know anything about hound guys from Arizona, New Mexico or any other neighboring state. I have done alot of reading, etc... and I'm...

    Houndsmen Hall of Fame Ballot.

Bruce, That's a SWEET website!! I just went and voted and sent you some comments. But they are just that... just comments. But I loved your site. I really hope I can make it down there this spring. Great idea on voting for a Hall of fame!! PS. Hope you got my emails

Kind of bummed, very pissed off

I wouldn't go so far as to say horses are better than mules amigo. It's just that I prefer to go riding instead of laying in a hospital bed or sitting in the ER keeping pressure on an open head wound. So horses are better suited for me than mules. But that's just me. I wouldn't call them...

Kind of bummed, very pissed off

This is a pretty interesting thread. I realize bear hunting is different around the country, but the fact of the matter is in many places it's far easier to spot and stalk and kill a bear than to catch it with hounds. But I've also been in certain country where the only way to kill a bear...

    How old do bears get?

I know a bear biologist that had collared and monitored a big 'ol sow for a number of years. He said the last time he messed with her she was at least 22 years old. So I'd say it's possible a bear can live to be over 20. Probably doesn't happen alot though.

Celeb hunt, who would it be?

I'd like to saddle up and ride with Elmer Keith for a couple days but alas he's dead. So I think I'd choose to go hunting with either Paris Hilton, and if she's busy I'd want to hang out with Kid Rock. Not to hunt but just to hit all the local bars and hope he could pick us up some slutty...

    Cougar Down

Congrats on the cat!! I can't post any of my stories yet cuz it ain't lion season here in Utah yet. And everybody knows us hound guys would never consider chasing cats out of season. Congrats amigo!!

    Warriors of El Gato

Well RockyDog is onto me... I'm really just in this for the free dental work to make me presentable on TV. They tell me it's a family show, but assure me that 4 hours in a Makeup Chair will do wonders for me!! I appreciate the offer Kev, but we already have enough wild animals that we...

    Warriors of El Gato

Bruce, I have never heard of an Expo up until today when I just read your post. Actually, you'd have to talk to my buddy about the videos. He lives down in Arizona and he made the videos and he handles the sales and all that. I just handed him over some footage but have little else to do...

    Warriors of El Gato

Sorry buddy, But ABC beat you to the punch. Don't ask me how they found me but apparently they want me to be on a TV Reality show and take a celebrity out chasing lions. They'll be showing up at my house in about 3 weeks. Looks like the junkyard Dawg is going prime time!! Once the...

SM, It's not "if" my dogs decide to run deer... it's WHEN they will decide to run deer!!! When and how far... no if's about it!!

    Warriors of El Gato

I haven't heard of it or seen it but it sure sounds good. They came to my house to interview me for the video, but it didn't take them long to realize I was a total dipshit. No seriously, that does sound like a pretty interesting video.
