    Well that sucks…

We were up on the Columbia over the weekend visiting friends in Camas (WA side) and I guess a train hit a herd of elk down on the tracks in the gorge just east of there. Evidently 20-30 of them killed. Have seen that with antelope before but never with elk. What a waste.

Hawaii- the Big Island to do’s?

Found out that we’re going to the Big Island of Hawaii in August this year. I’ve been to Maui, Kauai, and Oahu before but never to this island. I read through the Maui and Kauai threads, any “can’t miss” suggestions for this one? Will be staying 5 days in Puna and 5 days in Kona.

6.5x55 (Swede) ammo and brass for sale

    Spring snow geese

So fellow waterfowl hunters. A buddy of mine and I are looking to do a spring hunt conservation hunt for snows next year. Kinda of a bucket list deal; you know like an unlimited 4# dove hunt of sorts. I know that the “hot spot” changes year-by-year, hell even day-by-day but we are looking to...

    Ammoseek/Canoe Company USA

I’ve checked prices on there quite a bit in the past but have never ordered off of Ammoseek. The rounds in question on the site are offered by “Canoe Company USA” and though they have great reviews through Ammoseek I really can’t find much of anything else out about them on the internet. Any...

    “Fake euro” question

So been bored this last week and started a quick project. Over the years I’ve given a majority of my deer racks to a buddy that had more use for them (knife handles, drawer pulls, lamps, etc.) than I do with them gathering dust. There are a few I’ve kept and now want to tinker with. One was my...

    Idaho Recap

Well finally have the time for a write up of my Idaho elk hunt from a few weeks ago. As I had originally posted prior to the hunt, I was undecided on just what I was going to take with; I knew my bow was going and at first the backup was to be the .300 Win but after asking the thoughts of some...

    Voices from the safe...

So I’ve been thinking about my elk hunt this fall, likely overthinking it as always, but.... I’ve been planning on using my bow (earlyish Oct hunt) provided that the elk are still vocal and then to take along my .300WMag as my alternative. The more I’m in and out of my gun safe lately the more...
