Budget .308 bolt action recommendations
I would keep an eye out for a Howa 1500. The Houge stock ones used to be around $500. Not sure now. Also check Gun Brooker for used options. You mentioned not wanting it. However, I’ve been shocked at how accurate my wife’s Rugar American is. -

.308 users, what’s your go to hunting load?
My dad had a load in his 308. 165 grain Accubond with BLC2. Was accurate in his rifle and was near max load. I killed my first elk and many white tails with it. He killed many bucks and a couple elk. He now uses a healthy loading of Varget with Berger 168 gr VLD Hunter. Very tight groups...- Jnasa

Broke My Cabelas Grinder
One risk is if it doesn’t have enough power to grind cleanly. Hate to make mush that is poor texture. Make sure it is nothing that would get past the seal on the drive and that it has enough power to grind. Luckily Waltons is having some sales if you want. Cabelas and other places as well.- Jnasa

Second to last day to hunt. Passed on several does and small bucks earlier in the season. Last light was able to fill my tag. 1 shot 200 yards. 270 Winchester 129gr LRX. Thankful for the opportunity.- Jnasa

What is this on my brass?
check the chamber and see if there is a build up or deposit of anything. Many people may clean the bore but never the chamber. Also many people’s “cleaning” is not very effective. I would try tumbling before pitching the brass. How old is the rifle? I wouldn’t expect it but if it is an old...- Jnasa

What size holes in your grinding plate you use?
