FS Alliant RL16 - 8lb Unopened Jug - Local Bozeman Sale

I've got a spare unopened 8lb jug of Alliant RL16 on hand I'm selling. It appears Alliant is out of the civilian handloading market, if not permanently, at least for the foreseeable future. When available, these are selling for around $495. $450 $420 Cash face to face here in Bozeman. I'm...

    Utah's Iron Sighted Hunts

If true, that's a relatively sane direction to be heading given the current state of "hunting" - I suppose you could say it's swinging the pendulum a bit too far, but the pendulum is so far over into the sniper-wannabe-LR-black rifle-mil spec category, that maybe there's no other way to approach...

Revenge of the 80’s music weekend

Not 80's, 1979... I basically despise most music from the 80's. Happy Sunday 😁

This is why Bozeman is kind of annoying.

And to further screw up the state, here's his next installment "The Madison" - apparently he doesn't GAS: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt33204276/

This is why Bozeman is kind of annoying.

It's certainly changed in the last 6 years. I noticed a change after "A River Runs Through It" came out in 92', and then after 9/11 too. Here's a pic of my dad taken in 1949 sitting on top of a P51 that was parked on the green at MSU after the war. Not sure what the look on his face means, but...

EMERGENCY!!! Returning to the dream of one hunting rifle…

KISS - 22/250 and 270 Win. I doubt there's a better Western combo - that pair smells of sage brush and tall timber. The 22-250 up through deer, and the 270 for elk and bigger. You don't say what 6.5 you have, but you could do that and the 22/250 as well. Ditto a 308 and 22/250. But in my mind...

In some ways this reminds me of the dismantling of Montana Power that the Republicans spearheaded in the 90's - all with legislation written and handed to them by Enron.

Is the 300 WSM still a viable choice of caliber?

Every SA M700 I've used that was originally chambered for the WSM, or was repurposed for a WSM, fed like chit. The SAUM's were never great in the action, and the WSM's are noticeably worse (the WSM is longer and has a sharper shoulder). We obviously have a different idea of what good feeding is...

Is the 300 WSM still a viable choice of caliber?

I've had 7 or 8 300 WSM's going back to 2001, and have taken antelope, deer, and elk with the cartridge (BTW, it's not a caliber, its a cartridge). Like the 308 Win, the 300 WSM is an inherently accurate cartridge with its short, fat powder column and 35* shoulder. However, those same...

Yes, I still keep a check register

It was a bad joke - my apology. If you can't write a check for a light barrel due to shaking, it's probably also true that shooting a lighter barrel will not be easy given you can't write the check for it. Again, a kind of crappy attempt at humor. My apology.
