    Boot repair

My rubber boots always end up cracking on the back of the heel. I've tried sealing and patching them with every kind of adhesive I could find. I've used tire and vinyl patches and sooooo many different adhesives. I've found they're either too brittle and just crack or they peel off like the shoe...

    Hanging Euro Mounts

I use the skull hooker system, I only have a few skulls and the heaviest is probably a wild boar. I like them away from the wall a bit but not sure how they would work on heavy skulls like kudu or gemsbok.

Gun for an 8 year old.

I like the single shot H&R rifles in .243z Super safe, accurate, and easy to use. I started on one and it's a great rifle.

    .284 Winchester Handloads?

52.0 RE17. Lapua brass necked-up to 7mm, 180JLK VLD, CCI BR2. At the lands (3.116 OAL with a .139 Freebore) it gives me 2840fps from a 25" bbl at 70F. As accurate as any of my H4831SC loads, but with 65fps more velocity.

    Trap shotgun for woman/youth

My daughter started using a Browning Silver 20 ga around the age of 11 or 12 to shoot trap and sporting clays. We looked at the Remington 20 ga 11-87 and the Browning, she picked the Silver because it fit her the best. She is 23 and still only about 5'-4" and 90 lbs, but loves that gun. How...

    Tikka game

I like the look of it but it would be heavy for stalking. You could get it and pick up a tikka synthetic stock and use that when stalking.

    Educate me on wall tents

I have been using a 10x12 canvas duck wall tent for years. It seems perfect for 2 hunters with all gear. don't go with a short wall either. I have hunted 4 once in it but it was very very crowded in there. it is packable as is the pole set I have for those who desire a wilderness pack in too...

Anybody else shoot a 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser

I have shot a couple of nice ones including full military & sporterized & while I agree that they are among the most accurate of military rifles, they did not prove quite as accurate as my Savage Stealth 6.5 CM.

Suppressors, remove after hunting, or not?

I have to take mine off because the rifle and suppressor won't fit into the safe together. I have not seen any POI change between taking it on or off. I have the same POI change every time between off and on.

    Diesel heaters.

I bought the Russian Planar heater back in 2015, when the Chinese knock-offs weren't really as readily available. It's been fine.

    Waterproofing a tent

Get a waterproofing spray or wax. I use various brands meant for boots, packs, and various gear. My tents have never had a problem to my recollection. Just make a habit out of waterproofing your tent even if it does not leak at least once a year to be safe.
