He bulldogged it down the mountain from what he said. Solo hunt. I'll never know all the details, as he is long gone now. But I love the legacy of loving to hunt that he left us kids.
Thank you. I agree on both counts. Mom turns 85 tomorrow and is doing very well. She outlived all three husbsnds. She volunteers at the Alzheimer's center and also "takes care of an elderly lady" about 20 hours a week. :)
She says I look a lot like my dad.
Funny what people remember. 58 years ago, but I still remember that cat's name was Smash. He started out as Smudge, but he had the zoomies one day and Mom tried to shout "Smudge don't crash!" But all that came out was "Smash!" And that was that. :-)
Mom helped him butcher the ram right there in the dining room. She was raised on a farm.
Years later she and my step dad lived on a gold mining claim for 18 months. They drove to the end of the road and then walked their two mules about 5 miles up trail to the river.

Mom sent me a zip lock filled with old photos. Found these absolute gems among them.
Dad shot this old bruiser in 1967 in the San Gabriel mountains, less than an hour from our house in Los Angeles. Shot him through the eye with his trusty 22, a Marlin Glenfield Model 60. Note the 18 round...

Respectfully, check again. Cyanocobalamin is not toxic or harmful in standard hydration or supplement doses. It’s not “made from cyanide” in a dangerous way, nor does it rob nutrients. While other B12 forms may be more bioavailable, cyanocobalamin is still effective and safe. Even...
Modern bullets have made magnums unnecessary. And the smaller calibers are more than deadly enough with the added benefit of weight reduction, noise reduction, recoil reduction, and tons and tons of extremely accurate and reliable factory ammo. Other than nostalgia, no "need" for magnums or even...
During Covid we had several unique things going on. I think all these contributed to increased recreation. Now those factors are gone. Plus the market is saturated for many things like mountain bike, dirt bikes, RVs, tents, recreational cars and trucks, rooftop tents, winches, all the stuff...
