Any decent guide is probably booked. Scott Limmer is one who has favorable reviews. $5k to look at ropes on private. $1k more to take a rope home. No one guides rifle deer on public land in those units and there’s a reason. -

Archery hunting during colorado muzzleloader season
I muzzleloader hunted a unit a few years ago and I ran into two other guys muzzleloader hunting, several camps bow hunting, and two guys illegally bow hunting this archery draw unit with OTC tags. -

how much room for a cape??
I brought a fresh but dried out deer hide to my taxidermist once. He wouldn’t work on it. Since then I just roll them flesh side in to keep the flesh side moist and then I keep the roll somewhere cool. Has worked great for elk, muleys and whitetail. Drying it or salting before fleshing is a... -

I hunt the Flattops during 1st season and for the last 5 or 6 years I've had pine martens actually tear through my game bags on hanging meat and eat softball size pieces out. Tons of them in there. -

I had a local gunsmith in Erie Colorado work the trigger on the x-bolt. I think it was around $140ish. He brought it down to about 2 3/4lbs I think, took what little creep out that might have been in there, changed the angle slightly. I recommend this for any rifle based on my limited... -

I have the x-bolt in right hand synthetic in 270wsm. I'm left eye dominant but shoot right handed rifles, so I like the x-bolt because it has the rear tang safety in the center. Right hand palm swell is less than ideal though. Not a major issue if you have big paws. And, you currently can't... -
