FNG, ready to start my quest for the elk, need some advice

Winter or Summer range?
I just started hunting last year. I did a bit of archery elk hunting and sat within range of a bull for several hours but only had a cow tag. Then I did a 0 point antlerless mule deer hunt in Colorado unit 181; this was a pumpkin patch and a half, but I did end up getting a doe on the last day... -

Best Colorado rifle season
Are you still seeing elk around 10k feet during 2nd and 3rd season when it's cold? I just started hunting last year and I never know if I should be looking high up in "summer" range or lower on the mountain in a "winter" range.... or somewhere in between.
