If your group has hunted the same unit for several years. I'm sure you have learned a lot about it and the elk movements along with saddles, drainages etc. If it where me, I would stick to that unit. Why start all over trying to learn a new unit. Plus if you don't have any points in Wy or Mt...
Thats not good. May have to make a call to game and fish Monday and see what if any options there may be. I had a gut feeling this may not turn out for the best. Hoping for the safety of all fire personnel and no structures are lost.
I really feel for you guys. I had a Type 1 tag in 38 last year and pretty much got snowed out after the first day. Hopefully things will make a turn for the better. I really hope they open 14 in the near future as I have a deer and elk tag on the western side of the bighorns
With the start of Elk and Deer season right around the corner. Anyone heading to the Bighorns should be aware of several road closures due to the Elk fire. As of yesterday 14 was closed in both directions from Dayton to Burgess Junction along with several forest service roads. Looks like it may...
Hunting fools maps have been down for over a month. Pretty frustrating. They say there doing updates. Surely they have someone that can get them back online. Great time of year to do updates.
I use Hunting Fools mapping program quite a bit. Its been offline for close to three weeks. They say there doing updates. Seems like a bad time of year to do updates. Surely, they have someone techy enough to get it back online in a timely manner

Archer86 I put in for Wy deer and elk. The deer I should draw elk may be iffy. Im afraid if I draw both, a DIY hunt with him...
I am posting this for my friend who is 79, turns 80 in a couple months. He has hunted out west for years. But due to a new hip and knee he isn't as mobile as he once was. He has decided to go with an Outfitter instead of DIY. We went to the Harrisburg Pa and Columbus Oh show but couldn't find...
I retired from the Fire Service at age 55. I wish I would have moved out west back then. But wife, kids etc. I missed a golden opportunity on a cabin above Lewistown Mt. It was a divorce and they just wanted rid of it. I still kick myself over that one.
I hunt either Colorado, Wyoming, or...
Hey nameless, no doubt I am one of the two NR hunters you're talking about asking you a question. Sorry I ruffled your feathers. I ask one generic question (Is there much pressure on the mountain behind the ranch) Nothing about saddles, benches water sources etc. I wasn't asking you to figure...
An old time turkey hunter told me several years back to always rub Skin So Soft on yourself and spay your clothes with it before going out into the turkey woods. It has seemed to really keep the ticks off plus you also smell good LOL
