Pretty simple, actually. Several States bought in to his dominant gobbler theory without it ever being proven. Thusly, delaying the State’s starting dates(some up to 10 days).
I have a Tikka T3x Lite rifles. I prefer my Remington Model Seven in 7-08 over my Tikkas. I shoot 140 grain Accubonds. That’s what I’ll be toting on my next elk hunt.

Personally, I don’t like the looks of a fluted barrel, so I would never have it done. My lightweight rifles are my Remington Model Sevens. I’m really fighting the urge to buy the Howa Carbon Stalker in 6 ARC or 6.5 Grendel. That rifle is supposed to be sub 5 lbs bare rifle. 🤯
I’ve never killed anything called a tom, but have killed several gobblers. I’ve killed a limit(5 that season) of double bearded gobblers and one year killed a gobbler with double spurs on each leg. The spurs measured 1” and the second spur was 1/4” for both legs.

The time change doesn’t bother me at all. If you had to pick one, it would obviously be the regular time and not daylight savings time. Getting dark earlier in the winter is awesome.
