Yeah...He did me dirty real bad! Totally my fault for not checking him out more i guess, but I had blinders on as I thought I was getting my Alpine Mtn rifle! Afterwards I checked on his posts here and he mentioned his 7 year old kid liking a certain gun, after he told me he was old and not...
Think it was mentioned, but I too use the liquid 40 Volume peroxide, and mix it with Clairol BW2 powdered whitener. form a paste and brush on, leave for a few days and brush off. Works great.
I think it depends on what YOU want to do. If you want to make memories with this gun since it was a gift, then make it what you want. If that doesn't matter, you are right that there are lots of nice options. I have a Howa Randy Newberg 2 that I think is great. To each their own.
I know this is an old thread or post, but as a new member and older trapper, I'd like to say Thank You for showing trapping on your channel. I've seen a bunch of them and think it's great what you've done to promote the sport!
Trying to decide on caliber as I already have a 6.5, 7-08 and 308. Does the 308 kick like a mule? I realize the calibers are close, but as a flatlander with no elk experience, any difference between 7-08 and 308 for elk? Other than bullet weights. Is the 7-08 legit for elk? Thanks for any input.
Interesting...I have a Prohunter model in the 50 cal muzzle loader that shoots great. My affinity for odd calibers has bit me as I don't reload and have a 338 Federal barrel, which is a great caliber...just can't find ammo. Shot a couple of black bears with it. Think I have 7 rounds left!
Just signed up. New, older guy from WI. Love hunting out west. Deer and pronghorn so far, but elk are on the list. Really enjoy the Fresh tracks shows on U Tube too. Have become a Howa fan as well and really like the Randy Newberg 2 that I'm currently using.
