Data center/Public lands analysis
No infrastructure should go on public land until we repurpose all the abandoned buildings in every major city in the midwest and rust belt. Those old factories seem perfect for data centers.- IDiot

Threading and chopping a barrel?
I need threading done on a 30-06 and will probably take a few inches off while I'm at it. For the folks that have had shortening and threading done, how much did it cost you and any gunsmith red flags to watch out for? -
From "Meat-eater" 5/26 Can Large Predators Control CWD
I think that is spot on. I've worked on deer in some of the worst CWD areas. Hampshire Co WV and the Bighorn basin in WY. CWD is acting like a novel disease in deer populations. These deer have not gone through this selective pressure before. Much like human diseases native Americans had no... -
From "Meat-eater" 5/26 Can Large Predators Control CWD
CWD is not a pathogen. It does not act like a pathogen such as a virus or bacteria that an immune system recognizes and fights off. It's more analogous to a lock and key. The wrong kind of key won't fit in the lock. CWD doesn't go to work replicating in a system that can't accept it. The immune... -

Geriatrics on HT , am I part of the problem?
I appreciate the knowledge and experience here and provocative posters as much as the next guy. An example of geriatric behavior would include derailing a thread with unrelated things. But I don't mind this, it's fun. Another example is not caring about the future as long as you get what...- IDiot

Making an execution public will not be good for the country. I don't really know what to think about the death penalty. Good points on both side of that issue.- IDiot

Hey MT, will this make any difference?
I tend to think the already established "elected folks" don't give a hoot about accountability, the will of the people doesn't cross their mind and they aren't scared of us. They've divided our country so much that they don't worry about people coming together to vote them out, as long as the...- IDiot

Hey MT, will this make any difference?
Not voting in MT but I'd vote for an amoeba that would put the interests of the people over party. There's so many surveys these days it's not hard to know what most Americans support, just do that. Screw political parties, until we elect folks that are accountable only to their constituents and...- IDiot

Public Land Trail Cam Etiquette
There is some of this that goes on voluntarily. More of it would be awesome but criticizing and distrusting wildlife agencies is more American than apple pie. Also people don't want to be told that black panther is actually a house cat lol they'd rather have a conspiracy to believe in.- IDiot

Public Land Trail Cam Etiquette
PSA to everyone. Game cams are called camera traps by biologists and are used for a great many things. I used them to count anglers and boats at a public launch before. Wardens use them to deter or catch poachers and littering. They can be used to estimate populations, map migration corridors...- IDiot

I will need help in 5 years
It's preference points not bonus points, big difference. And in 5 years it'll take 10 points, could be even more. The demand is way more now than even a few years ago. You can catch it but it won't be in 5 years. I hope there's a change in the system coming, but I doubt it. -
Spot Sharing
I don't ask, but people give me info unsolicited sometimes, I know these are well known spots but can be useful. If I know someone decently I'll share info, strangers I meet out hunting not so much.- IDiot

Who is most full of caca?
People that drive vehicles with a rooftop tent, awning, 2 gas cans, a water can, winch, cargo rack, bike rack, shovel, high lift jack, giant spare tire... all on the sides and top like they are about to invade Iraq.- IDiot

10 days anywhere in the world...
Valdez AK in the warm sunshine is incredible. If you go for 10 days you might get a clear day or two 😂 RVing around AK would be a great vacation. That or anywhere I haven't been before.- IDiot
