Similar timeline, my surgery was May 21st. Your before/after is impressive! Are you doing any formal PT? Best of luck on your recovery and your upcoming hunt!! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing! When I asked my doc about physical therapy he said, “we typically don’t do that, just do what you can tolerate”. So…, with the pain and altered gait mechanics I’ve been experiencing since I transitioned from surgical shoe to cushioned sneakers (Hokas) I’m thinking I need to...
Lasted about an hour. I was knocked out. Day surgery (modified McBride and Akin procedures both done), doc said it went well. Then for 5 weeks I was mainly in a recliner with ice packs, on and off. Foot was bandaged, taped, put in a surgery shoe. I could hobble around to the bathroom...
Anyone got any tips for bunion surgery recovery? I had my right foot bunion done on May 21, 2026. Got cleared by my doc to walk without the surgery shoe (whatever I could tolerate) beginning this week. Sunday did .4 miles in cushioned walking sneakers (Hokas), Monday did the same, today made...
New member. Thanks for letting me join. NJ roots, living in KS, dreaming of the mountains. Retired Army, twice. First as a Soldier, second time as a civilian. RMEF lifer. Always on the lookout for whitetails, elk, trout, wipers, walleye, crappie. 🍻
I’m paying for ChatGPT ($8/mo plan). I’m finding the free Google Gemini has comparable to better results. I put the same questions in both platforms sometimes just to see what they spit out. I’ve been using both for medical questions (had 2 unrelated outpatient surgeries in the last 6 week)...
KS - elk, whitetail. Archery and rifle for both.
MT - rifle elk (hopefully). Came up bust on the NR general tag draw but my alternate list # is low enough I have a chance. 🤞
I’ve been invested in both for last ~8 mos. I rotated out of some high yield dividend payers (…return of principal types) because I was chewing my fingernails off every month. Less stress with JEPI and JEPQ. Fits my needs. No regrets.
I was signed up to go on the trip of a lifetime (fly in SE AK island lodge, and deep sea for halibut, salmon, rock bass) as part of a group but had to delay a year due to financial timing reasons… AKA divorce. :) Thankfully they let us apply our reservation deposits to next summer (2027).
It can be a challenge when personalities clash. You’ve got the right idea, “try to stay level”. Stay on the high ground and be the better person. Good luck.
You’re right to point this out. We are living the “good times” now. I should’ve mentioned the precious metals are my insurance in addition to a mix of index equities, income stocks, and bonds. Thanks.
2 buddies and I have been going to MT every year for 10 years+. Obviously we don’t all draw tags every year but the “elk camp” experience doesn’t require a tag. One of my buddies lives in MT, the other in KY. My KY buddy drives out to pick me up in KS and we tag team the drive to MT from...
Much like blackjack, I take the “insurance” bet no matter the trend …Gold and Silver. They help cushion the TACO tweets and portfolio roller coaster bumps, a bit.
