You got yourself a great rifle, can’t go wrong with that 340 Wby hands down very accurate and a killer of big beasts. I have the same rifle bought 20yrs ago. The Nosler 210 partition and Barnes 225gr TTSX bullets are crazy accurate. I installed a Timney trigger in mine.
Wall tent are usually made of 10oz cotton canvas, so when it rains it expands and thus seals any voids in the stitching. I’ve never had one that leaked. I always hang my tent to dry for at least a week in the garage or in the sun. Never store damp it will rot.
I made my own frame work for all of the wall tents I’ve owned over the years. I found the joint connectors and tensioners at army/navy surplus and flea markets. You can make your own stakes out of angle iron.
We hunted elk every year and used a 10x12 wall tent, cooked in them always, full breakfasts and dinners. Somehow we ended up with 6 hunters and got a 14x18. It was huge, some great times.
