340 Wby for my Dream Hunt!!

You got yourself a great rifle, can’t go wrong with that 340 Wby hands down very accurate and a killer of big beasts. I have the same rifle bought 20yrs ago. The Nosler 210 partition and Barnes 225gr TTSX bullets are crazy accurate. I installed a Timney trigger in mine.

    Waterproofing a tent

Wall tent are usually made of 10oz cotton canvas, so when it rains it expands and thus seals any voids in the stitching. I’ve never had one that leaked. I always hang my tent to dry for at least a week in the garage or in the sun. Never store damp it will rot.

    Hunting Camp/Wall Tent Questions

I made my own frame work for all of the wall tents I’ve owned over the years. I found the joint connectors and tensioners at army/navy surplus and flea markets. You can make your own stakes out of angle iron.

Cook in the tent or no.

We hunted elk every year and used a 10x12 wall tent, cooked in them always, full breakfasts and dinners. Somehow we ended up with 6 hunters and got a 14x18. It was huge, some great times.

Tell me about the Tikka T3

For a production rifle that T3 is scary accurate right out of the box. A natural pointer, light weight and great balance.
