    Replacement for Meindl Alaskan Hunters

I’m interested in this, as I have a pair of meindls I need to replace. I bought them in 2011 from cabelas. My holdup is not being able to try them on before purchasing. What are the quality issues you know/heard about?

    Hunting trips and hunting partners

Until a couple weeks ago, I’d never done a solo hunt out of state. I asked four buddies, and none could go, or wanted to go. In the end, I’m grateful I was solo. Best experience of my life. Will be doing more solo hunts in the future.

Montana this year. With occasional high winds, I was hesitant to have a fire, so the candle came in damn handy.

    Caving

Years ago, I worked peripherally in the coal mine industry. Was in mines a handful of times. That was probably enough caving for me.

How do the water rights work? Are they attached to the property? The person? Are these water rights permanent, or do they need to be renewed on a continual basis? Are there financial costs? Obligations for upkeep of ditches/dams, etc...? I really appreciate all the responses, especially...

    Montana road trip

Another question for the ranch/ farm crowd. Horses. I understand they are used as they were intended, OUT WEST. But what all are they raised for? General purpose ranch horse? Racing? I stress the OUT WEST, because back east, horses eat money and shit work. Just my opinion.

    Montana road trip

I’m in my second year of buying points, so yes. This bear hunt was also a feeling out adventure for other hunts. That, and the fact that I am quite smitten with your state after this trip. You folks have one hell of a place. I’m sure like any place, it has its issues and complications, but...

    Montana road trip

In regards to the irrigation, it’s just so different from here in PA. It makes me wonder about the agriculture out west before it came along. Namely, have farmers changed the crops they plant because they can irrigate? Has farm/ranch size changed in connection with the ability to irrigate...

A question for ranchers/farmers- Irrigation. How long has irrigation been used out west? What's the cost of installing and maintaining these systems? Are these supplied by wells, or is water delivered and stored?

    Montana road trip

I left western Pennsylvania on the evening of May 7 and headed cross country to western Montana. For something like thirty years, I've wanted to hunt Montana, and i finally did it. Aside from seeing amazing country and sights, the best part was doing this trip solo. As far as planning, my...

    2026 Garden

For those of you who save seeds for next years crop. I started seeds saved from last years tomatoes and seeds purchased this year. Same variety of tomatoes and from the same supplier. The seeds saved from last year have not done well germinating. What gives?
