    Your preference with trigger lbs?

I have almost all single stage triggers on bolt guns just to avoid cost of swapping out but I would switch them all if I could trade them.

    Your preference with trigger lbs?

1.5-2.5 # on hunting rifles. I feel like i can shoot a 2 stage with a heavier pull better than a crisp single stage (tikka, triggertech) with the same. Most seem to like no creep, no overtravel, but I feel like i shoot better being able to preload the trigger through the first stage and have it...

    7 PRC and Magnum Powder

Agree with the above. Links to podcasts refernced below. I wont argue with champion 1000 yd bench rest shooters on the topic of "tuning" loads but i'm pretty positive most of the time/$ wasting "load tuning" dogma that's been passed down does not help the avg guy with a hunting rifle hit...

study done on Isle Royale National Park after NPS and MDNR transplant wolves

Be real interesting what happens if they eat themselves out of house and home. Cant be fun to have to take down full sized moose with your teeth after all the calves are killed. I recall a study from SE AK recently where they wolves were largely living off of sea otters after they wiped out the...

study done on Isle Royale National Park after NPS and MDNR transplant wolves

huh, wolves must eat moose calves and that must impact moose populations. Who'd a thunk?!

    Deal of the day

I'd have impulse bought that too to put one of my growing stack of tikka barrels on!

    WY preference point increase

I'd probably do the same! Been looking ahead a bit with someone that has few deer points and a bunch of elk points (inverse of me). I'd maybe consider sharing with a lower point holder for antelope this year if it made sense. I thought about asking a relative to buy points to do this years...

    WY preference point increase

I could see more folks burning the points they have and getting out of the game as it all escalates. I've been buying d/e/a for 11 years there and only went on 2 elk hunts. Going to burn the antelope points this year. Not too eager to burn deer points yet.

    RL-26 replacement powders.

N560 is the first that comes to mind. I'd think N565 is a little slower burning with less velocity potential depending on the application.

    Show me your Subaru

Wish I had some pics of the Subaru Brat that my uncle and dad had when I was a kid. Was a bitchin ice fishing car. I thought the seats in the bed were the coolest thing ever. Looked like this but shittier.

    Bedding a Tikka

I like that idea, were they using just a very light holding glue to put it in the action such that the epoxy holds the lug better than the action?

    Bedding a Tikka

I have one that has never been modified that has worked well with my primary hunting rifle for a couple years, the one pictured needed the bedding. Have a third that needs to be opened up around the barrel shank to work with a certain barreled action so that one will get bedded too as i'm sure...

    Bedding a Tikka

I'd probably put release agent on the lug to avoid bedding on it. I'd think any bedding that gets on it is likely to come off eventually with recoil and action coming in/out of stock and i wouldn't want inconsistent thickness if it doesn't all come off at once. This is a picture of the only one...
