Yeah I hadn't heard of this either. Got nothing but good things to say about Rapid River though, I know a bunch of guys who have Rapid River knives that love them. I'm cheap (and I tend to lose knives), otherwise I would have one or two myself.- Perlodid

Blacktail Deer hunters in Northern California
I've never even been to California but I have this odd fascination with hunting there, especially blacktails. I'm hoping to make it down to hunt within the next few years. I'm always excited to see more blacktail discussion too, regardless of where they are located -

I believe Ohio doesn't have possession limits for fish, they just do daily limits. There may be some exceptions to that though, I'm not sure- Perlodid

Maven Spotting Scope Flourite glass
I got the 25-50x80, the wide. I have the first version, to be clear - the S.1. I could be wrong but I believe the original S.1 was only offered in that configuration, and then the S1.2 has the option for 30-65 + interchangable eyepieces. -

I don't have any comparisons to Kowa or Swarovski glass but I just got an S1.S on sale and have been really impressed with it. No complaints so far on my end. -

Anybody use these/have any experience with them? I'm in the market for a new pair of binoculars and these seem pretty intriguing. I'm particularly interested in the 10x50s because I want all the brightness I can get hunting blacktails. Seems like there aren't many 10x50 options in this price...- Perlodid

Relax, Everything is Going to be Okay!
Stress responses (i.e. elevated cortisol, glucose, lactate etc) in fish post-capture have been pretty thoroughly studied. Not saying we all need to start munching bean sprouts, but denying the existence of any stress/impact doesn't do us any good either. Worth examining so we at least know what...- Perlodid

Probably Siddhartha. Definitely left the strongest impression on me, anyways. I'd like to read it again in the future, see if my perspective on it will change at all. I did really enjoy A River Runs Through It and Snow Country as well though.- Perlodid

January reads. Books I should have read sooner + some Japanese classics. Also currently about 50% through Butcher's Crossing by John Edward Williams but I might drop it. It just hasn't grabbed me yet, which is surprising because I absolutely love Stoner. Might just power through anyways.- Perlodid
