Hogs are easy. Less than 200 yds it goes in the ear. Over 200 I put it just behind the front shoulder about 1/3 way down from the top line. All have been a single shot drop up to 275 lbs. -

For instance, I have a Ridgeline I've taken a lot of game off of. It runs from 215 yds to 260yds with about 60' elevation change. When you set the dial how close do you have to be for yardage? -

Ok, here's my thoughts. It's the load you helped me develop. Being a 6.5 I figured my kill range is limited, plus I don't see any reason to change bullets, and I only hunt on familiar property. I'm not big on Gizmo's and doo-dads. Would I need to range my shots first? I don't sit and wait hunt... -

How accurate do you have to be on your yardage guestimate for it to be effective? How close is close enough for yardage? -

I'm thinking about having a CDS turret made for my VX-3 4-14 scope. It's on a Ruger #1 6.5 Creedmoor. I seriously doubt I'll ever take a hunting shot over 400-450 yds. It's included with the scope so there's no cost, but is it worth the trouble to use or just better to estimate bullet drop. -
