Small Bullets (.224) and BIG game

    Hmmm, I think a 115.

Small Bullets (.224) and BIG game

I have no personal experience, nor can I recall someone I know telling me about using them. I don't doubt they'd probably work, but I'd personally ease into them and see how it goes on a tag of less importance. They won't hang on to velocity as well as the match bullets, so I wouldn't stretch...

Small Bullets (.224) and BIG game

Shooting volume is one reason I favor the smaller rounds. I shoot 80-200+ on a typical range day. When you factor cost and barrel heat, it's much easier to do when burning less powder. Not to mention, almost no one wants to shoot 100 rounds of magnum from a lightweight rifle in one sitting...

Small Bullets (.224) and BIG game

Some guys get religious about it, which can certainly be a turn off. I bet that works :) When in a position where people are asking about hunting rounds, 90% of the time I recommend a 6.5 something.

Small Bullets (.224) and BIG game

For my guns? Used 88 ELD's in a 22 Creedmoor, was very satisfied with their terminal performance. They could group a little tighter but shot well enough to not limit my range. Plan to give the 88 TMK's a try as soon as I can get my hands on them. For your 8 twist 223, I'd start with the 75...

Tikka shooters here’s a nice accessory

I’ve seen those, if I still had any in factory plastic stocks I’d definitely give one a try.

3D printed suppressors ??? Will the price go down?

Quite a lot of difference between a titanium 3-d printed can, and a polymer DIY one. The idea that regular 3-d printers are going to sell out as a result of this rule change is laughable, but I can see people trying it out for low pressure applications. On the titanium side, they've been...

    Unknown Suppressors OG Experience

Regarding recoil reduction between the OG/OG 6.5 and the Ultra 7, same/same as well as I can tell via shooting. A well designed recoil sled might show some difference, but my shoulder and eyeball says a difference either way is in the noise. From everything I know it's actually a very good...

    Unknown Suppressors OG Experience

I've got a OG and OG 6.5, a TBAC Ultra 7 Gen 2, and a Magnus, and have been around plenty of Nomad's amongst many others. The Nomad's seem good, no knocks, near as I can tell they seem similar to my Ultra 7. I am friends with some of the crew who developed the OG, and I do like to support my...

Minimum Elk Caliber. what do you think it is.

Placement - bullet - impact velocity Killing elk is not that hard. The last eight elk I've taken were with various flavors of 6mm. I've seen nothing to make me want to move up in diameter.

    Has to be.

Is your mall crawler ready to go?

I like it. Jig saw'd the valence on my '17 while it was in place, no regrets there. My 6.2 has never sniffed 14 mpg for a tank, much less 16.something.

Poll - One all around single cartridge under conditions

Chamberings are more alike than different, and I'd do everything you mentioned with every chambering you mentioned without second thought. Given that you already have the rifles, I'd let how you like shooting the rifle decide.

    Robert Redford has died

Butch Cassidy is my second favorite movie. Redford and Newman in period costume come off a lot better than a couple of hipsters dressed up like them modern day at a show at the Filler.

    Gopher of a Lifetime

My old boss in the coal mine, Rusty McHenry, almost got divorced over his use of a 12 gauge on a rat in the kitchen.

Get away from the keyboard and to the range challenge.

Just read this today, I erroneously assumed you used the same stages as bluumoon or I would have participated. I’m full speed ahead finishing a house and moving by Friday, so I’ll have to sit this one out. I think friendly competitions like this are good practice.
