Yeah but having to take off the safety to unload the rifle sucks. What if you drop it in the process from your treestand? This seems like a really poor design. I have no idea why Tikka would not include a 3 position safety......
Can you only engage the safety while the rifle is loaded and in the firing position? If so how come? Seems like a better system to be able to engage the safety and still load/unload etc, all the time while the safety is permanently engaged???
I know I asked this question a few days ago. Not sure if I missed it or if this is new, but I found a T3x with a muzzle thread in a .308.
Some questions about muzzles. I noticed that Tikka shortens the barrel by 2.4 inches to account for a muzzle.
1) What effect does this have on what...
It seems like a well placed high shoulder shot drops the a deer in in tracks. Quick dispatch, less suffering, no problems with recovery etc. Just curious though about meat damage vs the heart/lungs shot.
Thanks for the info.
Do you know the weight of these different rings?
DNZ Game Reaper 1 inch LOW = 5.6oz shipping weight
Warne 4007476 1" Tikka Permanently Attached - MEDIUM Matte Rings = 5.6oz (confirmed on manufacturer website)
Talley Tikka T3 and Tikka Master Scope Mount 1" LOW = 4oz...
Ah thanks. So yeah, looks like I will need the base and the rings then to fit on the standard Tikka rail.
But I assume it also depends on my size of scope because there are a bunch of different rings too.
I'm looking at a Leopold VX-3i, 4.5-14, 40mm Duplex, to attach to a Tikka T3x...
