So much for the vaunted Swarovski warranty.

Actually, Swarovski says: "Effective January 1, 1994, Swarovski Optik is proud to offer to the original owner registering their warranty, a Limited Lifetime Warranty on their product purchase. As the original owner registering your warranty, we will repair or replace (at the discretion of the...

    Foot Care Kit

Thanks for the replies. I understand the goal is generally to break in boots and avoid issues; however, my son will be attending US Army SFAS soon where there will be three weeks of heavy rucking, frequently in wet conditions. Just looking to gift him a foot care kit to treat the issues that...

So much for the vaunted Swarovski warranty.

I am the original owner of a pair of Swarovski 10X42 SLC binoculars. I turned in the warranty registration immediately upon purchase (2003) and still have all the original paperwork. Based on what I've heard from others my expectation was that they would repair whatever was wrong at no charge...

    Foot Care Kit

For you hardcore backcountry backpackers, is there a commercially available all-in-one foot care kit that you carry with you? Looking to purchase a kit for my son. I'm sure I could piece one together at the drug store, but looking for one with an organized carrying kit. Thanks.

Randy's Ramblings - Content, motivations, and recent threads

I know that "affinity" worked on me. I recently purchased a new pair of Leupold binoculars after considering a few other brands. The choice to go with the Leupolds was made in no small part because of their support of Randy's content and mission.

    Sleep Apnea

Have severe sleep apnea and have used CPAP for about 15 years. Just the nasal cushion on the upper lip with a head strap, not the full face mask. Definitely improves sleep. My biggest trouble is traveling with the dang thing because it simply takes up space which, when flying, is typically at a...

    Plumbing Help - Leaking Toilet

That seems to have fixed it. I took the toilet back off and the wax ring I had installed didn't appear to be very deformed (from pushing the toilet down on it). This led me to believe that the "gap" wasn't being properly filled with a single extra-thick wax ring. So, I took that one off and put...

B-17 and B-25 coming to Missoula

Just went to check this out with my boys. Unfortunately only the B-25 made the trip because the B-17 had mechanical problems. It was still interesting, but the B-17 would have been much cooler. Cost of the ground tour was $10 per person or $20 for a family of 4. Several men there to answer my...

    Plumbing Help - Leaking Toilet

Check the connection between the tank and the base/bowl since they can leak over time. Will do, but wouldn't that leak water onto the bathroom floor? My only visible leak is into the laundry room below. Any chance it could be condensation from somewhere? Pretty dry climate here - not much in...

    Plumbing Help - Leaking Toilet

It only leaks when flushed. Guess I forgot to mention that. I removed the ring around the wax, but not the tapered ring that fits within the drain pipe.

    Plumbing Help - Leaking Toilet

Floor around the toilet was totally dry. Only discovered the leak because of the drip in the laundry room below. When I removed the toilet the flooring immediately adjacent to toilet flange was swollen from water being absorbed into plywood flooring.
