Congrats on Handloading! Learn all you can! I used IMR 4350 and IMR 4831 with 140, 150, 160. That was in 1980. I just now started using the new to me Ramshot Grand. It is "choc full" of energy! Round In The Chamber
When my feet are on the ground, and I'm away from the road (legalese) there is always one in the chamber. Never had an NG. Im 72, started at 8 yrs old. Utah Law says when in the vehicle, empty chambers. Of course! Duh. :) When a pistol is on my body or in the Night Stand, one in the chamber. -

35 Whelen vs 7mm Mag
I hunted with a 35 Whelen (Ackley) for over 20yrs. My longest shot was 347yds on a Black Wildebeast. Witha +2" zero, I just held on top of his back, 200gr Barnes. The newer 180 and 200TTSX with these newer powders (custom ammo) shoot better than my Ackley. I have killed big critters with .338s... -

I agree about the wonderful 168 TTSX! In my SILs Grandads old post WW2 Sporterized Mod 98 Mauser with an unknown barrel ( made for one of the dept stores back then, i.e Sears, Wards) 58gr H4350/168 TTSX shot them into a "bughole"! I have loaded them for two guys in their 300 WSM, very deadly... -
