I saw your post on Colorado elk hunting. If you have done the research and are in good shape just go do it. You are young enough to make mistakes. You can't learn anything from sitting at home. I will however tell you don't think that backpacking/Cam Hanes 90% of elk are taken right from hunting off the road.
