Groundhog cut off road is the road we used to get back as far as we could before setting a camp. There were a few other camps set back in there. We did talk with a few of them and learned they had hunted it for 15+ years having some success. Terrain is very easy compared to alternatives and other areas we hunted which concerned me.
It's been 4-5 years since I hunted 71 (OTC at that time), but am happy to share some notes. That year we had 71 as a back up option from our primary, so we only got 3 full days of hunting in. With that said, we hunted an area SE of Groundhog lake. We didn't score on anything, but did get into some elk every day.
