Yes, we saw some smaller rams. Maybe ½ curl. The trip was mostly to get a lay of the land. I am hoping for something bigger than a ¾ . With 3 days scouting then 7 days hunting hopefully I will find him. This is my first sheep hunt, in the late 90’s I went a sheep hunt with a friend of mine but that is it. The day I got my notice of my tag I signed up for the RMBS. What area did you find your sheep at?

I killed my ram on the evening of the 15th day of hunting. Leonards basin/Beaver mesa area. I believe most of the rams these days are being taken from either Dominguez or Escalante drainages. It wouldn't be a bad idea to post on RMBS forums.

I will have to try the forums. Leonards Basin in one of the areas that I have down to glass on my milk runs. The alfalfa fields in the Escalante do attract the sheep… Per the CPW website it looks like last year the average # of days last year was 1.8. But other years it was longer up to 6. Thank you for your insight.
Also I spoke with him on the phone and traded some emails when I found out i drew the tag and I spoke to the biologist on the phone. I went to the unit at the end of May to get a lay of the land other than just E scouting. Next weekend i might be going to Gunnison to see my daughter and will be taking the long way home and go to S62 again.
Gadjet Hello, I drew a S62 sheep tag and would like to pick your brain about hunting there. Unfortunately I was out of the town the weekend of the get together... But i was on the conference call the CPW had and the side call with the Mark Richman the district wildlife manager when he went over the unit. I ran out of characters for the message. Thanks Powers
