    We're Hiring (again)

Anyone want to buy a remote lodge in Alaska? This sounds like fun! I probably lack the camera skills, and most definitely the software abilities to do this right. It's fun to dream though.

    Alaska drive in hunt

Elkhnter, I don’t believe he was referring to you as the “bubba” it’s all the others that can spoil your hunt. One thing to remember is that moose aren’t on your schedule. They don’t look at their watch and say “oh, I’ve been calling for 45 minutes and haven’t heard anything. Guess I’ll move to...

    Swap hunts?

All your pics from last fall have me feeling nostalgic about whitetail hunting back east.

    Hello from the Yukon River

If the PM isn’t working, you can go to this link. www.yukonriverlodge.com my contact number is in the top left corner. I’d be happy to chat with you regarding the message you sent me. I’m at the lodge alone this time of year, so if I don’t answer just leave me a message with a good time to get...

    Stalking the wild asparagus

I realize I’m late to the party on this thread, but that’s really cool! I had no idea this was a common occurrence. I take a pass on the ticks though. Ugh!

    Hello from the Yukon River

Thank you all again for the warm reception. winter is still hanging on here, but breakup should only be a few weeks away. I’m ready to see moving water out front again. Here’s a few taken during breakup last year.

    Hello from the Yukon River

Thanks, it’s been a lot of work over the years getting this place built and up and running. I landed here with a boat load of tools in spring 2006. Put up a 10x12 wall tent and started working. Almost all of the materials were milled on site. It’s been quite a project.

    Hello from the Yukon River

Yep, Charlie's still down in Galena. I heard he wasn’t doing transporter work anymore, but he’d have to confirm that as I haven’t heard that from him directly.

    Hello from the Yukon River

I got permission from the commander in chief to mention this, as I didn’t want to step on toes or over step any bounds. If you’re ever looking to come back up for some Shee fishing feel free to drop me a line. My wife and I own a lodge and can certainly help you out with that...

    Hello from the Yukon River

Back when I was living on the road system near Fairbanks I used to hunt both the fall and winter 40 mile hunts. I know it’s much more crowded than it used to be and I thought it was pretty cozy back then. I guess it partly depends on what “affordable “ is? Do you have a way to get here using...

    Hello from the Yukon River

What’s this “Sir” stuff, you’re making me feel old! 😁 Don’t wait too long. I always recommend making the trip to Alaska when you are young enough to get out and experience it, not just look at it through the window of a tour bus. We only get so many trips around the sun and I don’t remember...

    Hello from the Yukon River

Thanks everyone. The power plant was going to be my next guess. I hope you were able to get out on the river some while in Tanana.

    Hello from the Yukon River

Dave. Hey, it’s a start. If you don’t have a bunch invested then it’s easier to be mobile once you’ve been up here a little while and had a look around. Tanana is the next village above us. It’s a good 105 mile ride. Were you there working on the runway or something?

Thanks for the welcome John brownbear, The Koyukuk is a beautiful river system. I’m glad you were able to enjoy it! Dave, in what part of the state is your property?
