Having spent more of my life than I care to admit chasing drilling rigs with all four tires chained up with v-bars I will echo what others have said; unless there is a D9 waiting to drag you the rest of the way out, chains are for self rescue.
With that said, some of the modern low profile...
I have not worked any hand loads yet. I’m going to do that this winter after I fill my elk tags. I’ll be running Hornady Outfitter factory ammo until January.
Took it out to the west desert to spend some time punching primers. With the suppressor shooting Hornady Outfitter factory CX loads I’m still right at 2,000 fps at 500 yards, exactly where I wanted to be when this whole exercise started.
I didn’t save the shot string from my Howa 6.5 PRC...
Is it the tips striking rocks that is too noisy, or the poles themselves rubbing against brush/legs/boots/etc?
If it is just the tips, buy some of the rubber "exercise" tip caps, I run them on one set of my hiking poles just to prevent that sharp impact noise on some of the hard rocks.
Total weight as it sits is 8 pounds 1 ounce according to the kitchen scale.
Silencer Co Harvester. SiCo and Gunwerks were the only two I talked to that were willing to say they would hold up to this barrel length in a PRC. I never contacted Thunderbeast simply because I couldn’t find any of...
Just picked up my latest. 16.5 inch Proof barrel 6.5 PRC in an MDT HNT chassis. Whole goal was to have as short a package as possible with the suppressor (once the approval comes through) for a handy/dandy blood and guts rifle. First 12 shots through it show good promise, and according to the...
Make sure to pre-cool your cooler. We used to put a block or two of dry ice (depending on cooler size) in the night before packing up. The next morning the frozen bottles would go straight from the freezer to the cooler with the cooler lid open as little as possible. We would then pack all the...
1. All the units I used to harvest does in have had those tags (thankfully) eliminated.
2. I agree with this, some of the waterways that used to provide needed habitat don't really exist anymore, just dry creek beds for miles
3. Agree with this completely, but with one counterpoint; you...
Unsuccessful on deer and antelope, drew two elk tags. Cow tag is going to be interesting, but it runs until the end of January so should be able to connect on it.
I understand why I didn't draw antelope, but it is starting to irritate me that I can't draw a unit I grew up drawing every single...
The only trauma I'm concerned about is the hemorrhagic type. If bleeding bad enough I keep em, if not back they go.
To answer your questions:
No. Only if I get to participate with a redheaded female biologist. Quite possibly.
Was my daily driver until last year when I moved further away from work. 1990 F-350 w/ 460. It is unfortunately parked now waiting on a new engine and a transmission rebuild.
JetBoil. Purchased around 2004, used extensively to melt snow on winter snowmobile treks until I finally lost it in 2018.
Brunton compass that I can't remember the model of was purchased in the late 90's, finally developed a bubble that killed it around 2016. Can't begin to guess all the...
