The Season has Begun!

My season in Wi. is from 5/2-5/6. It's going to be tough waiting for my season,with you guys telling all your hunts. I was driving on some back roads yesterday,while I was waiting for concrete to set up when I saw 2 toms. One was all white on his back the rest of him was normal colored.

How many years and how did you get started?

I started hunting turkeys 6 years or so when the area I hunt in Wisconsin started having turkey seasons.

Anyone ever shoot white legged tom

I don't have any pictures showing the legs of the tom. The guy was in a hurry to get to the bank,he had some kind of investment meeting to go to. Not much of a turkey hunter to set up a meeting during his turkey season.

Anyone ever shoot white legged tom

Three years ago I took a guy out turkey hunting I called in a group of jakes and toms. He shot the biggest tom and when we looked at the bird everything was normal in color except he had white legs. Anybody ever get a bird like this?

Favorite Shotgun for Turkeys

I use my 870 Remington. 30 inch barrel full choke. My son shot a tom at 49 paces. I bought a mossberg 835 for my son, but I believe my 870 has a tighter pattern. My 870 is 35 years old but never has failed me.

Turkey Contest!

I'll know in a week or so if I got a spring turkey permit. In Wisconsin we have a lottery drawing for turkey permits. I'll get in if I get a permit.
