We like elk smash burgers cooked on a very hot griddle, thin, two minutes per side, with pepper Jack cheese, grilled onions and BigMac copy-cat sauce. Montana - Time to Shake it Up?
Yes I know that, but for an outfitter to suggest limiting all nonresident hunters to a typical outfitted hunt window because he cares about the tax base seems rather disingenuous. -

What a selfless suggestion... Wouldn't it be far easier to simply reduce the number of NR tags if the goal was to reduce NR pressure? Or would that cut into profits too much? -
Montana or Wyoming General Elk
If you really want to learn the craft of elk hunting I would pick Montana. The seasons are much longer giving you a chance to gain more experience, and there is very little chance of your hunt being cut short due to filling your tag. -
Processing Time - Start to Finish?
It takes me about 14 hours for an elk. This includes setup, a quick trip to the store for beef fat, cutting, double grinding the burger portion, a half hour break to watch the Vikes lose again, then packaging and cleanup.
