Montana combo draw odds
There has to be some variables to explain some of the numbers. Nonresidents are paying over $1000 more if it's the combo so probably a little more inclined to hunt harder or more probably just shoot any buck where a resident could hold out. Also, the skewed numbers are in regions 6 & 7 where not...- tjhester

Non-resident has had a cap on it and I don't think it's changed for a long time, however the resident numbers... I get it I get annoyed by out of staters in my state too but reality is everywhere is growing. Especially Montana, Idaho etc- tjhester

Certain percentage of the tags are random draw for people with 0 points (I think 25% but not positive), and remainder are highest point holders.- tjhester

Wyoming Guided Elk Hunt with 5 Points
He has to draw the general tag. 5 points will be close. Sometimes he can put you with someone with more points to pull him higher into the draw but not a guarantee of course. With the change to NR tags going to region it's a possibility that it would take way less than 5 points in a couple years... -
