Looking at Board of Fish Report I do not believe it is going to be reopened but they have pushed it back to the Full Alaska Fish and Game meeting in January I believe if I read that correctly.
I mostly wanted something I could strop and realized Iron WIll makes a 2 blade plus bleeder double bevel.
Ordered one S125 and one wide 125 to test them out.
Excited for the results.
@eshunt WOW!
Just amazing.
I got my first dall sheep on a 9 day hunt this last year after several attempts and countless hours.
But I have wanted a Desert Sheep since seeing them back where I grew up. What an amazing hunt, an amazing write up, a perfect setup and a beautiful Ram. So happy for...
Looking at the Cutthroat 3 blades, or possibly Iron Will with Bleeders.
I just don't want to drop $240 for 6 heads with Iron Will.
Cutthroat would still be $140 with 3 blades or $156
Helix is $90
Kudu $100 without bleeders and $120 with Bleeders.
Well for better or worse I bought a new bow and I'm going to gift my old one to my buddy who is trying to get into Archery. He is a very successful rifle hunter for Mule Deer and wants to up the challenge.
@TrumpkinTheDwarf you aren't wrong.
I liked the idea of a two blade so I can sharpen it the same way I can my knives. Seems like a good way to maintain my equipment a little better and I already strop most of my Convex Blades. If they made a Convex Edge I would get it but it doesn't seem like...
I haven't listened or followed him - I do Wish him nothing but success coming from another Oregonian to someone from the PNW. I support any and all outdoor hunting/fishing/etc from Oregon specifically but Oregon and Washington.
Nosler, Leupold, Benchmade, Phelps, etc.
I would plan on stropping my broadheads the same I would as my knives.
So with that you wouldn't have a rolled edge - if you only sharpen one side you would roll an edge no matter what kind of blade it is - double bevel or single.
I plan to strop them to maintain them same as my convex blades...
@Fire_9 I was looking at some of the Bleeder models - several of the companies make them.
Iron Will and Kudu for sure.
Cutthroat also makes a 3 blade but it isn't single bevel - not sure if that is because of any particular reason or not.
I lost a Caribou this year - thought it was a good hit - fixed blade broadhead with 4 blades.
Arrow passed through. Followed blood trail.
Blood stopped after 70 yards and we followed the herd and never saw him again.
I had killed a moose with the same broadhead a few years prior.
But I know...
I really wanted to go with Cutthroat but wasn't sure.
I want to get something that I can get reliably. There was a local shop that used to push a certain Broadhead (OCD Bloodtherapy) but when they shut down nobody else has heard of them. I want something I can reliably replace. Was...
