You can hunt in SD if you want to buy the auction tag for around $100,000. They don’t have one available this year because a disease hit that hurd. The rest should be available for us that live here.
Just an honest question.
Do any of you think the advancement in archery equipment plays a roll in terrible numbers too? I share your frustration as I feel hunters that come from states with no mule deer want to shoot any mule deer just to say they got one. Now, we have guys launching arrows...
The population took a huge hit in the NW part of the state where they had a storm, not the SW where we hunted. There’s lots of ways to read into a graph. Where we hunt, they were strictly mowed down by nothing more than too many hunters and not having a chance. So yes, the population suffered...
Shortening the season will do absolutely nothing. SD did a similar thing with Antelope about 10 years ago. They had two separate seasons in the unit I hunted and it was great. Hunters had a great experience being spread out and not on top of each other and the goats had a fair chance. We...
Maybe this isn’t the place to ask this but I’m confused by all the changes MT made and if it will affect us coming to MT to hunt deer. In the past we bought points and drew a general tag every other year. Will we still be able to do that or did the changes make it more difficult?
I was blessed and drew the late Unit 7 deer tag with only a few points! I have a buddy who lives in Idaho who has hunted there 3 times, so that will help. Will be a really different hunt for this SD boy. Super excited!
That's what I hear! My buddy says there are some nice elk in there so that will be fun to see along with the overall adventure in general. If I can bring home a mature deer, that will only be a bonus.
I saw a spring migration map. I am guessing the fall migration routes are the same. It...
So I was extremely lucky and drew the unit 7 late season mule deer tag as a non resident with I think 3 points. I wasn't paying too much attention since I wasn't expecting to draw. My buddy is a back country nut who lives in Idaho. He as hunted the Jarbidge 3 times. Once for deer and twice...
