Have a Merrill pair of hikers (great boots from when they were still made in. Italy) that are 14yrs and soles are shot, not tread but delaminated from dry rot. Need to find a good cobbler…
I guess, I need to figure out size. My pack is modular so can almost double in size depending on how I set it up, which would effect cover… but I guess rain mainly come from the sky, so as long as the top side is covered…

Got a survey last year from some of those brands, as they were switching their materials and getting client input. From what I understand the chemicals may leach into skin, thus having impact on humans. (Among other impacts like environmental, etc.)
