    Boot sole replacement

    Have a Merrill pair of hikers (great boots from when they were still made in. Italy) that are 14yrs and soles are shot, not tread but delaminated from dry rot. Need to find a good cobbler…

    I guess, I need to figure out size. My pack is modular so can almost double in size depending on how I set it up, which would effect cover… but I guess rain mainly come from the sky, so as long as the top side is covered… Will look at Kuiu. I have a fee of their lightweight gear.

    Got a survey last year from some of those brands, as they were switching their materials and getting client input. From what I understand the chemicals may leach into skin, thus having impact on humans. (Among other impacts like environmental, etc.)

    Fixed blade for the field

    +1 on Benchmade. Various fixed blade models over the years, some with gut blade on backside, but either way, always have at least 1 on me EDC.
