Going to seem like I'm following you around...lol. 22, 32a, 32 was a bust. Weather had a lot to do with it, even though there were a few killed the week we were there. My buddy hunted 39 last year and said its a great unit for those that want to get off the trails. Had plenty of elk pushed...
550yd effective range and fast clear ranging. 6x21 zoom. Works great, no damage, has case and new battery. Received a new one as a present and this has been a safe queen. $100 shipped anywhere in US or Trade for a GPS.
California...however, it’s hot and season is short..shuts down before RUT! Makes no sense...but you can get an A zone tag and D-3/5 tag. Costal Blacktail and mule deer.
This is true..found a couple spots I marked that are off from the roads, however there are still atv/hiking trails everywhere. Figure I'll put some distance in on a trail and drop off. Go from there. I'm not looking for a trophy, just looking for a meat cow.
I can deal with the ticks...its fighting with the "meat bees" that is more of a PITA! Good looking buck..I went out last Sunday in A North zone...didnt' see anything and the heat was pretty nasty.
I'll be doing the same 8-18 November. I would be interested in finding out whatever you come across as well. Off grid and as far off the road is what I'm looking for.
I was out a Cache Creek Sunday...got out around 4:45am and walk/glassed until 9:45....didn't see anything. On the plus side, the quail seen to have had a good year cause kicked up plenty of cubbies. Plan on heading back out first week in Aug for a 3 day camping hunt. Anyone interested hit me...
You plan on Flying in? I was looking at hunting the Frank as well, but the time I will be there is 8-18 Nov and pending weather I was worried about getting trapped back there with my vehicle. 1 road in that drops down from Elk City and last 18 miles or so is 4LO. I ended up exchanging my tag...
I'm an avid backcountry hunter. Grew up in Texas, hunted Virginia for 10 years and here in California for the past 2 chasing blacktail. I'm a disable Vet and have OTC tags for General Deer and Elk. I will be in Idaho from 8-18 November and this will be my first time there. I would love to...
I went for a 4runner to a Landcuriser only for more room and the V8...however, the 4runner is a great rig. I have a front bumper and warn8000 winch, high jack, tree straps, bigger tires, shovel and traxmats. That will get you out of most things you get yourself into...I haven't been stuck...
