Nice job, how are the numbers looking in 7, I was driving through earlier this year and they were looking pretty ugly. I know its been on a decline but hoped the reduced tags would help the numbers out.
First one i ever shot in MT about 9 years ago, bad pic actually has good mass, I have been back to to that region a handful of times a couple hunting other times passing through for work. A true shame see the numbers continue to drop every year, was out there last week just passing through and...
I drew a 4th season tag last year in a "migration area" and there was zero snow to move the deer it was a rough hunt saw almost no deer and went home with tag soup. Talked to a guy who had the tag 4 years earlier and he said they got pounded with snow a week before the season started and they...
Maybe I'm just a bit salty because its -25 today in MN but between here, Facebook and other forums i am seeing 10+ posts a day asking the exact same thing as above and most have 0 points asking where to hunt. I am glad ppl are wanting to hunt but come on ppl do some research first then maybe...
I was surprised the number of mule deer does i saw, granted I havent hunted this area before but i saw easily 200+ in the 24 hours i spent in the unit driving around. Saw probably 10-15 bucks all small except 1.
Tagged out yesterday morning was done hunting in less then an hour. Found a group the night before while scouting went back the next morning and they were sitting on a private section between 2 chunks of block mgmt land, i decided to sit on the fence line and waited for them to cross, only took...
Some people want to park far away from roads to avoid theft also, unfortunately you can't trust people anymore to not steal everything in your camp, especially if you are camping right off the road.
I was through the SE part of MT about a month ago for work and was very surprised how few antelope i saw. Seems like over the past 5-6 years everytime i am out there i see fewer and fewer. Good luck and know the difference between the Type 1 & 2 BLM
was looking over the new BMA booklet and also online and i noticed many of the type 2 BMA say permission obtained on-site by land owner. Has that changed i remember 3-4 years ago most of the type 2 you had to call to get permission/reservations for some that only allowed a few ppl each day.
Im tossing the idea around of a bear hunt in Ontario in the next few years, being from MN its not to far of a drive to Ontario. Has anyone done this in the past, pros cons. Any recommendations on outfitters?
