Remington 700 Camo Stock & Sling

Hi All, I have the original camo stock that came with my Remington 700 ADL .308, as well as a sling I bought for it. Stock shot around 40 rounds, sling has been attached but never used. Pretty sure the sling is the "Max5" version here...

    Idaho Elk 2019

Yeah, that's kind of what I was thinking. Basically, if I get drawn, you'd still come along and help with the work / hunt / packing in & out etc. I'd obviously have to take the shot, but we'd split the meat 50/50. If you get drawn and I don't, I'd come along to help with everything, you'd...

    Idaho Elk 2019

Ok, cool. So you can apply as a group and if one person in that group gets drawn, everyone gets a tag (for that same zone / season etc)? Good to know. As the draw gets closer, I'll probably be looking to get in on one or two of those group entries! Thanks for the input & info everyone, much...

    Idaho Elk 2019

Hey All, Question about next year's season & controlled hunts in Idaho. Do any of you "team up" for tags? For example - I enter my name in a hat for this, that, and the other zone, and "Hunt Friend A" does the same. If we both get tags, cool & great, we'll go do our hunts how we want, but if...

    Blaze Orange vs. Camo

Yeah I was planning on getting some orange plastic wrap for the antlers, and hanging some orange off my pack. Good to know - a common theme is "Wear. Orange." Appreciate the feedback & input everyone!

    Late Season Idaho Bulls

Congrats & great pictures! Which zone were you in, if you don't mind me asking?

    My Idaho Story

Anybody have any experience in ID 33? I'd like to get away from the crowds as well, and personally, that would be more important than finding a bunch of elk. Just getting out off the grid is one of the things I'm looking forward to the most (new to the sport), so I'd be bummed to get out there...

    Blaze Orange vs. Camo

I feel like most of the vests I'm seeing out there are just straight orange. I feel like, even though it doesn't appear as "orange" to a deer or elk, a big block-like chunk would be noticeable. Does anybody know of a company that makes a "hybrid"? Like, a camo vest that has hunter orange...

    Blaze Orange vs. Camo

Well that settles it, I'm adding a couple vests to my wishlist this year! Really appreciate the input everyone, I'll post back after I *hopefully* get the vest to do a review on it: Construction, pockets, fit, etc. Have a great week y'all.

    Blaze Orange vs. Camo

Yeah, that's all great feedback and I completely agree: Rather look like a clown than a corpse! Great information & glad to hear I wasn't wasting my time asking the question and looking at vests for Christmas gifts... Hunting Wife - really sorry to hear your story about your dad's friend...

    Blaze Orange vs. Camo

Makes sense. I was considering wearing my camo (jacket & pants) as a "base layer", and then getting a vest or a hat in blaze orange just for the safety aspect. Wanted to see what others thought and did before doing so though, just so I wasn't out there looking like a clown on my first hunt!

    Blaze Orange vs. Camo

Hey All, So, new to the world of hunting and something that I've always wondered about was when & why to wear blaze orange vs. camouflage? I understand it's worn for safety in the event you happen to be hunting the same area as another hunter, and that deer can't see it like we can (appears...

    hello from Boise

Very cool - yeah I think I found the ones online, and assume a little will change as the seasons do, but great to just read up on it and become familiar. Would rather be over prepared than under prepared! I'll be in Cabela's tomorrow, so will probably grab a physical copy as well. Really...

    hello from Boise

Thanks for the info, and good to know. I'll plan on picking up one of the reg books this weekend and giving it a good read through. Assuming Cabela's would have these? Or are they only available at the F&G office? That's great to hear about the deer hunting throughout most of the state, too...

    hello from Boise

Hey All, Just moved to Boise not too long ago as well. Appreciate the insight on where to shoot - I think I found a spot on Google Earth that seems like a decent spot south of the airport like you mentioned twsnow. Planning on waiting until next fall / winter to get my first deer & elk hunts...
