New to elk hunting.
There are really good units in Colorado that you can draw a Cow tag with no points during 3rd rifle. I think a good strategy if you only want a cow, is to put in for a unit where there is no Bull season during 3rd rifle, only a cow season. That's what I did this year. Just how important is camo to spot-n-stalk western rifle hunting?
I don't think camo is important for rifle hunting in most cases, but if you ever aspire to get into archery hunting it sure makes sense to buy your outer layers in camo, so you don't have to re-buy once you make the switch. That was my line of thinking anyway.- markuswallus

My plan is for next year to be my first year archery hunting (for elk in CO and whitetail in TX).
