    pack for caribou hunt

Look at this from, of all places, LL Bean... Timberman, L.L.Bean has come out with a clone of the load hauling frames that Kifaru and Mystery Ranch have, and it is only $79. From a quick look on their website it looks like you could return it if you are not satisfied with it, so you could buy...

    Backpack tent on the cheap.

Another option is to rent it. REI and Eastern Mountain Sports (EMS) will rent you equipment, or they used to. Check it out; you can try out the kind of tent you are thinking about without having to buy it.

    Backpack tent on the cheap.

    Mystery Ranch or KUIU

Brudno, I just sent you a PM about the KUIU ICON 6000, a 6000 ci version of the ICON 3000. I think that it might answer your remaining requirements. Larry

    Alice pack and frame

The ALICE pack can and does carry a lot of stuff, especially if you have boned out the meat, although you could put a leg in there if you wanted. The frame on the other hand is a back breaker. I would suggest getting a decent external frame and putting the ALICE pack on it.
