Outfitter recommendations for NW WY for cow elk hunt?

Thank you very much for this info. I've just started researching, but something that has some challenge would be preferred as I would also prefer to bow hunt. I'd be going for a week. Early season would also be preferred, but I've been told by one outfitter that cow hunts don't start until...

    Upgraded the Tundra

Yeah, I like Bilsteins for Toyota since that's what comes OEM. Or OME, which I had on my landcruiser. Didn't want anything crazy. Love the 1794, especially the interior. Those are so plush. I have a feeling this will be my last truck. I don't drive enough such that I'd need to get a new...

Outfitter recommendations for NW WY for cow elk hunt?

Friend who's going with me, his dad lives in Cody, so we were gonna pay a visit and hang out. So figured I'd look for an outfitter nearby. Trust me, the proximity to YS and added grizzly factor does not appeal to me. BUT...gives me an excuse to buy a 10 mm! ha ha ha

    Upgraded the Tundra

I did the Bilstein/deaver leaf first. I then took truck back due to sag, especially after getting the GFC. They recommended the RAS and it seemed to work. Still have the slightest sag in back when I'm loaded up for camping, but otherwise, looks level. Definitely smooths out ride.

Outfitter recommendations for NW WY for cow elk hunt?

Looking to do a cow elk hunt in NW WY in 2025. I've started researching and I know they'll all busy right now, so plan to start contacting after Jan 1. Just hoping to find others' recommendations on an outfitter to use for a cow elk hunt. Thank you.

    Upgraded the Tundra

This past year plus, I added a Bilstein lift (5160s in back, 6112's in front) along with a deaver leaf and Roadmaster Active Suspension in the rear. Definitely smoothed out the ride a little and added maybe 1/2 - 1" more lift? Also picked up a GFC this summer. I've used it half a dozen times...

    Which fletching jig?

With the Bitzenburger, I put maybe a 2-3 degree R helical. But I'm using 2 blade broadheads, Magnuson stingers, which don't have a huge profile. Accuracy over cutting damage I suppose. They are flying extremely well out to 70-80 yards on the range.

    What did santa bring you?

New Kuiu Valo for this season, and a dozen bare shaft Easton FMJ's. Gotta find a weekend to relax and build more arrows for myself.

    Which fletching jig?

You’re looking for a tool to build an arrow, that you want to propel at 350 fps, in order to hit a target as accurately as possible. You may even be building arrows to hunt, arrows that may travel 40-50 yards or more, with the goal of an ethical shot into a target ring the size of maybe a large...

    Aiming Under Deer

Got mine this year at 58 yards, aimed center front, and didn't move at all. Dropped 5 yards from where he was hit. Someone previously posted, don't overthink. I think that is very sound advice.

    Rangefinder Recommendations

I've had my sig for about 4-5 years. Not sure model, but it's the 6x. I find it use it more during archery even for glassing since I'm not hunting things more than 100 yards out, usually. FWIW, I may switch back to my Bushnell Engage 10x50 binos, instead of my new Vortex 15x56 Diamondbacks...

    Trophy Bluefin for Guided Hunt?

FWIW, I do several fishing trips a year between April and October. Usually end my season with my annual private 2-day charter of which I'm now the charter master. During the year, I jump on sport boats out of SD for 1.5 or 2 day trips (probably $800-$900 for cost of trip, picking up...

Deer hunting partner in Southern California/ zone D11 -13-15

Get OnX and start e-scouting during the off-season. Read forums. Most guys will post up general areas and then use OnX to figure out if there's access to public land. That's how I started about 5-6 years ago. See if any of your friends, co-workers, clients/customers, or anyone in your circle...

Deer hunting partner in Southern California/ zone D11 -13-15

Sorry, I was just referencing deer season. Have not personally hunted bear, but they are up there in D11, above the Pasadena/La Canada/Monrovia area. The issue up in some of these areas is access.
