    My young and dumb story

I get the story I think, but I’m dying to understand what “lighter knot” means?

    Horses in elk country

We just got out of an outfitted wilderness hunt using horses with the same brand. All good stout mountain horses compared to our smaller ranch horses.

First World Problem - Would You Buy Land Right Now??

This shows about a 5% return on investment annualized. Nothing that really builds wealth if it’s just a tick above inflation. But I get it- we all like land. I’m willing to own some even if it’s not a great financial return. But comparing it to a cd at 5% with zero risk is worth thinking...

Staying together, having a plan and getting local intel that you trust is good. We were just a couple dumb Americans wondering around...

Vote: African Taxidermy VS a week in Cape Town

It would have simplified our lives and traveling stress to use the outfitters rifles. They have plenty. Taking your own is fine but not with the risk and hassle in my opinion.

Vote: African Taxidermy VS a week in Cape Town

I worked as what the South Africans call a PH for an outfitter one summer in the eastern cape. Pay wasn’t great but it was a super experience taking clients on several species and taking 5 myself. I’d recommend 5 or more species (especially Kudu and bushbuck) and getting euro mounts. 3-4 days...
