Just like @p_ham, I was able to take my son on his first big game hunt this weekend. I drew this limited entry tag in Utah with 0 points, so I did not have any sort of expectation on size of an animal. All I wanted was my son to have a positive experience and to learn and have fun.

This is awesome. I have the opportunity to take my 5 year old on a LE pronghorn hunt in the Book Cliffs this coming weekend. I plan to take way too many pictures and write down the funny things my son says. Hunts like this one are some of the most important. Well done
I was fortunate to tag out in two elk last year. I drew a limited entry archery tag in Utah, spent 14 days chasing bulls until I was able to call this nice 6 point into 58 yards. I didn’t have to trail him as he went maybe 15 yards and toppled over.

This is the answer to every question and should be pinned. I used to own 26” magnums and 24” standard rifles. I have since gone to 18-21” on all rifles. You’ll want to thread all rifles you have, once you shoot with the suppressor on, you’ll never pick up a rifle that isn’t.
Congrats on pulling the tag! I drew the ALW (Rifle) Buck Pronghorn tag in the Book Cliffs, Bitter Creek unit. I was a lucky SOB, as I had 0 points! I drew out elk last year for archery, back to back years to hunt limited entry for me!
My elk rifle last year was a 270 sherman short using a Bighorn Origin as the base. 20" barrel, MPA Ultralite chassis, and a Leupold MK 5 3.8-18 to top it off. Slinging the 150 grain ABLR at 3075 fps. Absolutely love this rifle. Took 2 elk and a deer last year, planning on a few more this fall...
