    Budget trekking poles

    I got a pair of campfire trekking poles back when campfire was still around. They've worked really well for me for a few seasons now, but that obviously doesn't help since campfire isn't around. I would be looking at the black diamond if I was in the market right now. Kind of hard to beat.

    That's a pretty fantastic deal. I have a savage 110 in 7mm mag that shoots lights out. I also have a 7PRC in a Howa 1500 that I built. It's been my go to for most rifle hunts the last couple of years. Really enjoy it.

    Yeah. It got down to -5 that night. I knew it was gonna be cold, so I was pretty prepared with my sleeping situation and clothes. It wasn't too bad, but certainly wasn't the warmest night I've had.

    What's on the smoker today?

    Didn't get a picture, but I pan seared some fresh elk backstrap and then threw it in the smoker for a couple hours. Some of the best I've had in a long time. Rubbed it with salt, pepper, garlic, paprika, thyme, and some all purpose seasoning. Came out incredible.

    Wyoming elk unit 66

    Yeah. My son and I had that tag about 3 years ago. We didn't see a single elk on public. We did end up getting permission on a ranch and got 1 cow. But, it's my understanding that the ranch that let us on has turned over management and is not longer allowing access. Good luck!

    I bought a CVA Wolf 2 this year and I have no complaints so far. Shooting well and the breech plug is easy to remove. I would really look at CVA's if I were you.     Threading and chopping a barrel?

    I threaded my 7 PRC without chopping the barrel and am really wishing I had now. I will likely take it in after hunting season and have it done. Just gets to be too long and unwieldy in the field.
