What was your first big game rifle, and do you still have it?
Savage .243 actually is a really accurate rifle. Still have it with plans to hand it down to my son. -

Overboots, Down Booties or what for long cold sits?
Arctic shield boot covers work pretty good for white tail stand hunting. They are decently lightweight enough to pack around and easy to get on and off. I think they would work better for you then a bootie that requires you to take your boots off as well.- JakeB

2021 New Mexico results
Drew a 2B late rifle deer... I never expected to draw it and now that I did i’m thinking it may be a little different then what i was expecting it to be like. Snapping Turtle
It's really not that important. If time permits I'll put them in a tank for a few days and it will clean them out a bit. If it wasn't possible to do, I would not hessitate to skin it the day I caught it. I'd just spray it with a garden hose to wash off most of the mud. You really do not want to...- JakeB
