I grew up in Boise and have been chasing deer and elk since the early nineties. Not many wall hangers, but I have put a lot of meat in the freezer over the years. As I write this, my 20 yr old daughter recently connected on her first buck, a nice 150 class 4-point. I have been focusing on trying to get a deer for her and several other people over the last few years, but I'm looking forward to pushing back into some new country over the next few years to find a real wall hanger or two.
I hope to get back to my recurve before too much longer, but I will keep using my compound until I get the time necessary to get proficient with the stick and string. Still not opposed to pulling out the ought six from time to time either.
