I've had great luck with the 1:48 twist and big conicals. In a CVA Hawken, recoil will be very brutal with that brass butt plate. I'd highly suggest you rethink this madness. Even 90gr T7 is going to hurt like hell.

Heads up guys! Check the serial number on your Lyman rifle/pistol. Lyman has issues a recall for breech separation issues. If you bought one early last year, factory or kit, you need to check the serial number. DO NOT SHOOT until you make sure your Lyman muzzleloader is safe.

I've always used birchwood casey gun scrubber and then bore scrubber. You can even use carb cleaner on the patch and it will remove the stuff from inside the bore.
Did you clean the breech plug with the drill bit? That o ring I know is a must in a traditions break action. I've shot 60lbs of the stuff over the years, with a wide variety of muzzleloaders, so I got some experience.
I didn't read about you cleaning the breech plug with a 1/8" drill bit in that Traditions.
#2, I did not see mention what primers you used. Winchester W209, CCI 209M, Federal 209A primers are the best for BH209.
