  • Most of the elk we saw were in E4, along the park west side boundary (between the cell tower on the south up to the petrified forest to the north) People always joked & said "just sit by the holes in the park fence", well, they weren't kidding. There are maintained "holes" in the fence & the elk would move off the park land in late afternoon.
    I don't know how the bulls did it, but we saw a couple 6x6's in the herd we shot our cow's out of. The coordinates is where we got our cows. This was in mid-October, we were there mid-week and didn't run into any other hunters in that area.

    The week of Labor Day we hunted up on Magpie Road (a lot of people), we glassed up (2) bulls here 47.202584,-103.360305. It was hard to get away from people. Don't hesitate to ask questions if you have them.
