WOW! They must have very special turkeys!

Scope mounts that "fit" both Weaver and Picatinny bases.

Yes, I did clean the screws and used a little blue loc tight pushed rings towards the muzzle and then torqued to specs on instructions. Never used this type before so wanted to confirm. Sounds like I will be fine with the set up. Thanks for all the replies. Love the new scope!

Scope mounts that "fit" both Weaver and Picatinny bases.

Hi All, I have mounted several scopes over the years but am certainly no expert. I recently bought a new Steiner scope with 30mm tube for a Remington 700 I am fixing up. In shopping for rings the packaging does not often indicate the bases they fit. The retailer told me that the Vortex rings...

Anyone made the switch from a compound to crossbow?

I had to go to X bow a few years back due to all the issues mentioned! Miss my verticals but love to hunt so the crossbow it is. Bought the Mission Sub1 that could be de-cocked without shooting. Walking around with it is not great and no longer still hunt during bow. Stand hunting is it and...

    Vension ribs

We like ribs as well. When butchering the entire deer I make chops and short ribs. Now usually take the back straps and cut the ribs into sections. Never used a pressure cooker but these look deeeeelicious! Will definitely give it a try. Thanks for sharing.

    Pump Rifles

I had a 742 auto loader in 30-06 for years and was very fast with a Williams hunting peep BUT would jam too often and could not take to PA. Traded it for 7600 pump with plastic stock (with recoil pad). As my eyes aged out I now use a 2x7-42 on top. It is a fast accurate gun. In the woods I...

Really great! I just turned 67 and hoping to make a few trips out to the midwest/west as well as others and this gives me motivation

Got this one on the 21st. All alone so these are the best pics I could manage.

    Crossbows and trapping, again

I agree. I had to go to a crossbow last year due to injury. With a rest they shoot great but without one I much prefer to use my Matthews (if I could). I went with the Mission Sub-1 and it is great but it is not a slam dunk in the woods!

Bankrupt Gun Maker Remington Outdoor to be Broken Up and Sold

The quality had suffered the last years but they made millions of great guns. I have an 870 that I bought in 1977 that still looks and handles great. A newer 870 Express I scoped and use as a dedicated deer gun for shotgun areas not nearly as nicely finished as the older one but functions fine...

Never Seen Damage Like This - Warning *Graphic*

Nothing seems worse than getting your chance, nailing the shot and having more damage than you would ever expect. Had some pretty good damage on a deer a couple of years ago but nothing close to this.

Unusual capture on a game camera.

I often give myself a hand sign as I approach the camera!
