2016 Jeep JK Mods
I did 456 gears, eaton E locker, AEV 2.5 lift, new HD ball joints, 33 in Micky Thompson AT, bumper, winch and LED lights. It gets just about the same mileage as my HD 3/4 ton truck but it is fun on the trail/mtn roads.- Dogwater

For those of you that own Swaro....worth it and why?
I bought some used 8x SLC's about 25 ish years ago and hunted a lot with them. They were starting to get pretty worn with some scratching on the lenses. I sent them back to Swarovski hoping they might be able to do something. I don't know if they refurbished them or sent back a brand new pair... -

Stirring the pot on shot placement
I have been trying to figure out why one particular cow I shot a few years ago was so tuff. It was totally unaware I was there, about 75 yards away grazing. I shot it at the high neck/base of the skull to avoid any meat damage. It dropped like someone flipped a switch, not even a twitch or a...- Dogwater

Optics/Bullet for First Elk Tag
I have used a Leopold VX5 HD with cds for the past 2 years. Mounted on a custom 700 7mag with a 26" Lilja barrel. My only complaint so far is the side focus knob. It works fine but my pack bumps it and I have to mess with it more than I like. I used the cds dial on Eastern MT mule deer at... -

MT elk hunting
I have hunted in Western MT for about 45 years and shot about 40 elk. I hunt solo about 1/2 the time. This advise may differ depending on where you go... The colder it gets the better the hunting (not wind chill but actual below zero temps). If you wait until the last week the elk hunting... -
